The EU "Green Paper" on agrofood quality

The EU Commission has recently published the long-awaited "Green Paper" on agrofood quality. This documents is likely to be a moment of critical reflection, elaboration and general involvement about strategies, tools and policies directed to "protect and promote quality in agrofood products" without adding further no-use costs to farmers.
With this document a new reflection phase on the adequacy of the present tools in the EU laws, on possible improvements and eventual new initiatives is opened.

Moment of necessary reflection should interest for example the problem of food origin, certifications, organic productions and the problem of "Made in..."

With this "Green Paper" European Commission launches a clear signal: agrofood system is not only linked to competitive strategies, cost reductions and particular innovative technologies, but also to the producers' capabilities in differentiating their products, adding effective "quality" and efficiently communicating this quality and added value.
