The G20 Pittsburg Summit

After the UN summit on climate change (President Obama full text) and UN general assembly, next date is the G20 Pittsburg Summit Sept. 24-25.

Main discussion topics at this summit are economic tools and strategies to deal with the current global crisis and environmental and social implications of future choices.

In my opinion the most interesting thing is the site choosen for this summit. Pittsburg is a good example of economic transformation from conventional industrial development approaches to the opportunities and potentials of the green economy.

G20 Pittsburg Summit

Dopo il summit ONU sul cambiamento climatico (testo integrale del discorso del Presidente Usa Obama - in inglese) e l'assemblea generale delle Nazioni Unite, vi è grande attesa per il summit del G20 che si terrà a Pittsburg il 24 e 25 settembre.

I temi principali del vertice riguardano gli strumenti economici per fare fronte all'attule crisi globale e le implicazioni di natura sociale ed ambientale.

La cosa più interessante è, per me, il luogo che è stato scelto per questo summit. Pittsburg infatti rappresenta un buon esempio di trasformazione da un modello economico industriale-convenzionale a quello ambientale con le opportunità e potenzialità offerte dalla Green Economy.

Invito pertanto a visitare il sito ufficiale del summit, in particolare la sezione Environmental Renaissance. Credo che ci sia molto da imparare.
