WiserEarth: the Movements' Movement

Our unlucky country detains an obsolete and antiquated political class both at national and local level. Despite the dramatic present complex and global changes, whose symptoms are a multiple and simoultaneous crisis (environment, energy, technology, food, society, finance and economy), there are no signs of any attempt to interpret and manage such issues: there are no proposals, no programmes, no ideas.

Green Economy, with its implications and opportunities, is a concept totally unknown among italian politicians (and it will be a great pleasure for me to be contradicted about it...)

In no political party there are those urgent indications to (re)define the minimal and fundamental roles to fight not only environmental pollution, but also the ethical, economical and social pollutions which usually are the preconditions for a general degradation of a society as a whole.

This climate of "TV fiction" in which Italy has collapsed, where any attempt for a renewal of a political class is degenerating into the start of a new TV-series and where the profits' and general consensus' maximization at any cost is the only goal to achieve, has created new and deeper political demarcations no longer based on ideaology but rather on the idividual absorption and adjustment capability: "adjusted" and" "maladjusted" people.

With the progressive politics' failure for the benefit of the TV-shows' sphere, maladjusted people are likely to be crumbled, isolated, disarmed, deprived of the possibility to have a voice, to create links and define strategies. Often Internet remains the sole place to have an exchange of experiences and good practices (before the adoption of limitations and filters also for Internet...).

For this reason, I suggest the following important website WiserEarth: it's a great network of networks where organizations, associations, groups and individuals may meet each other without demarcations of ideologies, parties, doctrines and political leaders.

Surely a place where to find people definitively more at the level of the tasks and goals of our present and future than many italian professional politicians.

Thank you Zoysha for your kind comments. I strongly believe that often the so-called "common powerless people" has so much political, action and decision power. It's only a problem to move the first step: the rest will follow naturally (in the wider meaning...). I think that maybe this is the best lesson to learn when approaching to Wiserearth: good practices, positive experiences, free people and, above all, hope.
All the best
