Last Oct. 3rd the trial against the people involved in the illegal waste management in the Province of Viterbo has begun. This is one of the worst and dramatic environmental emergency in this area in the last decades. However the situation is still extremely serious according to an evnrionmental point of view even if the responsibles are now in trial. Among these there are the owners of the areas where wastes have been illegaly dismissed, intermediaries and technicians who are accused to have produced false technical analises and reports to allow the placing of these toxic wastes as normal residues. Local environmental associations will represent collective interests during the trial. Further investigations are in progress to identify eventual further environmental criminals linked to mafia.
