A shipwreck and its toxic wastes

It has been found yesterday in the Tyrrhenian Sea in Calabria (Southern Italy) s shipwreck full of radiactive and toxic wastes. This finding further confirms the frequent and consolidated praxis by organized crime in Italy to illegaly liquidate toxic wastes also through the sinking of old ships full of wastes.

The effects of this method is clearly evident: marine environment drammatically devastated and, as in the case of the coasts in Calabria region, a sudden increase in cancer diffusion among local communities and increases in radioactivity.

Can we tolerate all this? First of all, it is important to break down the wall of silence around this situations...
