The italian poet and writer Edoardo Sanguineti died yesterday and his death gives me the opportunity to remind his idea of "catastrophic optimism"
This idea resumes the need to reinforce personal optimism when dealing with crisis: in particular he highlighted the need to show more committiment in this period so close, in his view, to an imminent catastrophe.
Surely a global catastrophe (in environmental, economic and social terms) is next door: I can see actually very scarce optimism and a diffused apathy and total lack of awareness.
