Agorà

With a great pleasure, I have received the recent news about the presence in italian cinemas of the movie "Agorà" from the director Alejandro Amenàbar.

This movie is focused on the dramatic story of Ipazia, a women scientist who lived in Alexandria in the V century killed by the christians. I have many times cited the figure of Ipazia as symbol of free thought and example of a victim of the intollerance and antifeminism typical of monoteism (in any expression and manifestation)

I will surely see this film hoping that in the meantime it won't be blocked by those in the past killed Ipazia and during these weeks have tried to stop this movie. Similarily I will diffuse all the possible information about the figure of Ipazia as symbol of freedom against intollerance.

E' con un piacere difficilmente esprimibile a parole che accolgo finalmente l'uscita nei cinema italiani del film di Alejandro Amenàbar "Agorà". Oggetto del film è la drammatica vicenda della filosofa e scienziata Ipazia di Alessandria, la cui figura storica ho spesso rievocato su questo blog come espressione di libertà di pensiero e vittima simbolica dell'antifemminile e dell'intolleranza strutturale del monoteismo (in tutte le sue manifestazioni).

Certamente andò a vedere il film (se nel frattempo non verrà bloccato dagli stessi fanatici violenti che trucidarono Ipazia a suo tempo e che hanno cercato in tutti i modi di impedire che in Italia si potesse vedere questo film) e farò tutto il possibile per sostenere la figura di questa grandissima donna: spero anche che qualcuno riesca a ricevere un po' di luce nella propria testa ottenebrata anche grazie alla visione di un semplice film.

Invito tutti a far circolare il maggior numero di notizie possibili su Ipazia.
